Dealing With Pandemic Trauma

Writer: Jason RanieriJason Ranieri

The pandemic is traumatizing. There is the global trauma that the world is experiencing together and then there are the personal traumas we face.

Perhaps you or someone you love has become sick with COVID-19. Perhaps someone you love has died of it. Perhaps you are scared of becoming infected or you had a scare where you think you could have become infected.

Now is a time to be very gentle with yourself. Realize that when you have trauma, you may not function as well as you are used to functioning. Allow yourself extra time and patience with doing even regular tasks because you may have decreased ability to focus and less energy. Take breaks and get support.

Stay safe and stay well. Take care!
