Aftermath Of A Stressful Event Like A Trip To The ER

Writer: Jason RanieriJason Ranieri

After a stressful event like taking a loved one to the emergency room during a pandemic, it's important to take a break.

Stressful events are draining. Your cortisol and adrenaline are released during a crisis and they provide you with an extra boost of energy to make it through whatever crisis you are facing. When the crisis is over, your body stops pumping out adrenaline and cortisol intensely and you crash.

Self care becomes especially important in the aftermath of a stressful event. Make sure you take time to recharge so that you are available for your next challenge.
